DREAM YOUR OWN WINGS

A radio-controlled (model) aircraft (often called RC aircraft or RC plane) is a small flying machine that is controlled remotely by an operator on the ground using a hand-held radio transmitter. The transmitter communicates with a receiver within the craft that sends signals to servomechanisms (servos) which move the control surfaces based on the position of joysticks on the transmitter. The control surfaces, in turn, affect the orientation of the plane.

A wide variety of models and styles is available. Scientific, government and military organizations are also utilizing RC aircraft for experiments, gathering weather readings, aerodynamic modelling and testing, and even using them as drones or spy planes. RC aircraft is also used for special agency operations, with their primary task being intelligence-gathering reconnaissance. An unmanned Aerial vehicle (UAV) also known as drone is usually not designated to contain a human pilot. Remote controlled target drone aircraft were used to train gun crews. Today the hobby of aviation aero modelling or flying RC Plane has gained worldwide recognition and we Indians are also not far behind. The increase in newcomers and their interest results the technological advancement of this hobby.

Aerodynamics and Aeronautics is one of the most interesting fields in the engineering but there is lack of awareness in our campus. Many top Institutes in our country have Aero modelling clubs & we would strive to reach their level to have better synchronization and understanding about the subject. We have seen the results of all the clubs which have been successfully in enhancing the interest in the minds of students regarding their respective field. E.A.C. is the platform for these students of our Institute which will increase awareness about the basic principles of Aerodynamics and also build a link between the mechanical and electronics fields which are two completely different streams.
